Impacting Through Community

OR

Where music and movement = positive well-being

More Than Singing is a dynamic programme that combines music, movement, and motivation to create engaging, holistic, and uplifting experiences across schools and communities. Led by Sharlene-Monique Morris, co-founder of Morris Music Academy, it supports confidence, focus, and emotional wellbeing through school assemblies, community choirs, vocal masterclasses, and private tuition. In school settings, these sessions have a proven impact: children feel inspired and connected, while teachers often report experiencing joy, renewed energy, and a deeper sense of engagement alongside their students. The programme’s inclusive approach naturally benefits participants of all abilities — including those who thrive with additional support — helping every individual feel part of a shared musical experience.By pairing coordinated singing with purposeful actions and meaningful messages, children and adults alike can release energy constructively, internalise positive affirmations, and strengthen wellbeing, belonging, and lasting self-confidence.

More Than Drumming is a drum teaching programme led by Chris Morris, professional musician, husband, father, and co-founder of Morris Music Academy. While strong technique, rhythm, and musical understanding sit at the heart of every lesson, More Than Drumming is about far more than learning beats; it’s about building confidence, focus, discipline, and a healthy relationship with learning through music.Drawing on real-world professional experience performing on stages such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, and working with artists including Kingdom Choir, Paloma Faith, Lethal Bizzle, and Big Sean, lessons combine high musical standards with a warm, encouraging, and student-centred approach.Teaching is tailored for people of all ages and stages, from complete beginners to developing musicians. We offer in-school programmes, private one-to-one tuition, and performance development for drummers of all levels, with the same aim throughout: to help each student grow musically and personally, and to enjoy the journey along the way.

More Than Audio is a practical training and development initiative equipping individuals with the skills, confidence and understanding to operate in live sound and production environments.
Developed through work in church and community settings, the programme now serves schools, colleges, youth programmes and local organisations - creating accessible pathways into audio, production and live events.
Through hands-on training and real-world application, participants gain more than technical knowledge. They develop responsibility, teamwork and creative awareness, building the confidence to contribute meaningfully in professional and community spaces.
Whether supporting volunteer teams or upskilling young people, More Than Audio is built on a simple principle: technical skill should empower people, not intimidate them.

The Morris'

At Morris Music Academy, we’re passionate about helping people discover and grow their musical potential — whether in skill, creativity, or confidence. We believe music is a powerful tool for personal growth, community, and expression, and our work is centred on encouraging, inspiring, and equipping learners of all ages.
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to perform on stages such as the MLB (Major League Baseball) and the Invictus Games, and appear on international broadcasts including the Kelly Clarkson Show. These experiences, alongside teaching in classrooms, studios, and community settings, have shaped how we support students and teams to thrive — not just as musicians, but as people.

We’ve distilled our combined decades of experience into core principles and values that guide everything we do, helping each learner grow in confidence, creativity, and joy — and empowering communities to flourish through music.
